Caring for myself and my friend tonight, so i will be offline. But i did write a bit.
-Tomorrow is the biggest day for all my doctors appointments that i missed in the last few months so I will be away from keyboard until evening while i reschedule those, and attend others.
-Filming of the boy-girl variety is on hold until Feb 1st as my co-star / partner of 1 year recently left , quit their old job and moved to a diff city .
-So much movement, endings and new beginnings in this lady's life on this cold, rainy January night So excited to see what changes by Imbolc.
Now for the Prelude to this 2023..
The fireplace is roaring while rainy January air filters through the slight balcony door opening as i clutch my brand new cotton blanket.. the only gift I have given to myself in so long. I cherish the feeling of it on my weak, tired arms. As I sip my peppermint green tea I wonder how I could ever seek to numb the sombre beauty that is an evening such as this..knowing i may feel different tomorrow.
Both of our flannel strewn across the ottoman, tomorrow marking a backwards choice that can only be described as someone who goes to a chiropractor once to fix an issue, then does not do the exercises needed to maintain the joint in the correct place.. only for the joint to slip back out .
But life passes by so quickly, doesn't it? Too quickly to concern ourselves with cavities, or muscles and joints, sometimes even moisturizing our skin despite our reptile like complexion screaming for it.
Maybe the beauty is in the mundane. The exercises, the moisturizing.. even the flossing. Maybe gratitude is humming amazing grace while putting away the dishes, solely to wake up to the beauty that is a clean kitchen. It is these things that take up residence in my mind as the 9PM air sends a lovely chill down my collarbone, and the cavity I cannot afford to fill drills pain into my jaw.
Maybe all gratitude comes from the mundane, and maybe it is the mundane that brings gratitude. All i know is that in this moment, I am grateful
Have a warm ,cozy, healthy and safe night ..wherever you are out there :)
