🕑 Added 2021-02-13 19:55:30 +0000 UTC These past few months I’ve really learned the value of a solid foundation. This is a photo I took setting up for a shoot. Too often in the past I have tried to skip the first steps of a creative process because I always felt if I didn’t work fast enough, my ideas would fade or I’d lose interest and move on to the next thing.
Much of last year had me in a creative slump and the thing that finally got me out of it was learning to embrace the first parts of the process. The planning, the cleaning, the set-up of a project. And it really brought home the truth about how much a strong foundation can yield magical results. A solid foundation makes the whole experience more satisfying, too - knowing I didn’t cut any corners and I did my best.
And our “best” is different every day, isn’t it? Maybe the foundation you need to work on today is any self care that you’ve neglected. Maybe it’s finally setting up your work space to get that project done. Maybe it’s heading to the grocery store to stock your fridge with food for the week. But I hope that whatever it is, you make a move. ✨
