Okay, I shouldn't have complained about the lack of a juicy Koby moment last episode - because it was much more epic like this!! Dayum, he really inherited Garp's wil!! You can hear in his laugh how happy/proud he was, too. Even if it's not Luffy or Ace. But as the show established, you don't have to be related by blood to inherit the will of others. 15:30 100% Agree with Prez. Koby's biggest hurdle has always been himself.

The consequence should be capture not death, or else it would make no sense narratively. Why would blackbeard kill his bargaining chip?

This episode gets me so hype and I genuinely hope Garp doesn't survive. When everyone is saved by plot it means there was no consequences. I want luffy and Koby to step up as the next pirate king and hero marine team. The previous generation is gone and we see our boys develop

To add more to it is that last episode showed all of the failures for Garp in the past. His son, both grandsons, and his previous pupil Kuzan all turned away from the path Garp wanted. Koby is finally the pupil that fits Garp.

One of the most beautiful Navy-centered episodes. It's just about hope and entrusting the future to the younger generation. Current Koby and Koby from the first episode are so different now, he really did work hard to shape and protect his own vision of justice. And Garp saw that, and that's why chose him as the one to inherit his will. Just fists and honesty is all they need lol
