I haven't read the manga myself (and I don't plan to until I've finished the anime), but based on how many chapters still need to be adapted vs. the number of chapters that were adapted in S3 Part 1, it seems like 12 more episodes might not cut it. Perhaps they're planning to go the "conclude with a canon movie" route that more and more anime have been taking lately. Or maybe they'll pull an Attack on Titan with multiple final seasons. 🤣
