Don't get me wrong, King's design is sick. And he's *strong*. But so far, he's a bit bland compared to Queen. Maybe since he's a riot (11:04 😂). But I am curious about the race thing that Big Mom mentioned.

For Yamato, she addresses herself quite like a tomboy, using masculine Japanese pronouns (僕/boku, 俺/ore) to address herself, which comes off as having a brash or more masculine, tomboyish personality. Examples of such are Echidna from Re:Zero, who uses boku, despite clearly being a witch. It's hard to get an accurate English translation, as English simplifies the pronouns without context. Yamato is more like a hardcore cosplay fan that adores and wants to become Oden, not just a man. If Oden was a woman, she'd be a woman just to be like Oden. Oda even introduced her as the Daughter of Kaido (カイドウの娘). Just my take as a half-Japanese

Though I agree with you, it certainly isn't true that the watchers don't call Yamato she/her. The comments last time really showed that. And it has been an everlasting topic of discussion for years :/ But yeah, there is no instance of any characters calling Yamato a woman. Yamato introduces himself as a man, and Luffy isn't even questioning it, and everyone accepts it, even the bad guys. All the characters use male pronouns, male honorifics and words like "son"
