I think the way this anime handles the concept of a polygamy is the most close to life one that exists, it takes into account the feeling of all parties and actually tackles them, unlike most harem anime where the girls are emotionless side characters.

Boys first harem anime 🤣 Jokes aside, this usually hard to accept. Most of the western world is drilled for monogamy and those deep roots often close one up for possibilities of, like Prez said, other cultures and sentiments. Nice thought processes imo. Even if Prez looked kinda Uncomfortable ;)

I've seen tons of Mushoku reactions but I legit think this is by far the best reaction to S2 episode 23, so good at thinking through each character's POV.

Some context from outside the show and why the LN readers didn't like how this was handled in the show. Much like how they viewed the issue with Roxy and wanting to get her back in the dungeon to avoid "the curse". They thought Rudy needed physical intimacy to prevent his "curse". As a group the rest of them discussed who should get with Rudy and Roxy volunteered for obvious reasons. They changed this detail some in the show and didn't make the connection. Elinalese knew it may cause problems but allowed it in order to save Rudy. This is kinda hinted at in the show but never outright explained.

In the novel, the morning after with Roxy, Rudy shared a story of “a guy far away from home who got a second chance, but repeated the same mistakes with his family” and that’s how he got the advice to look forward to his family. “They’re waiting for you” echoed from season one when Paul said to Norn that Zenith is waiting for Rudy.
