the illusion doesnt buff your damage, but kirito still has his sao stats and the monster gained his attack damage. remember they blocked his damage with the big shield before and still 1 attack made them half life

The illusion magic itself didn't make him any stronger, just gave him the look/appearance of one. Him being able to one-shot them is more about his skills/parameters that transferred over from SAO than the magic.

Hey, any SAO aficionados: do they get into the Gleam Eyes transformation thing more in the novels? It feels like it was such a muted reaction by Leafa and the surviving guy. They made such a big deal about illusion magic not being good for combat, but he basically one-shotted a dozen opponents with it, and they seemed to brush it off like it was no big deal. Just wondering if they explained it better in the novels.
