You said it's "lucky" that he spawned in the forest to meet Leafa-Sugu. In the beginning instead of spawning in his hometown he glitched out. It might be because they are connecting from the same network/IP and would make sense that he spawned near her. Or it might be a consequence of his data being overwritten/glitched with SAO data. The place he spawned could be center of the entire map or his last location in SAO possibly, although the same network/IP makes more sense to me.
