There was also a very short scene of Bonney reacting to the Pacifista army during Marine Ford, which was her cursing them out and near crying at the sight of Kuma.

During Marineford, after the Pacifistas showed up there was a scene of the Worst Generation watching what was happening. During this, Bonney was shown crying but there wasn't an explanation at that time for why.

As you mentioned Law's plan to go after Kaido and whether it was or wasn't a good idea. I think what people tend to forget is that Law kind of lied to Luffy there to get him on board. His real goal was always Doflamingo and to get revenge for Corazon and he thought getting Kaido to go after Doflamingo would solve the job. But he never had ambitions or plans beyond that. The Strawhats simply went above and beyond to actually free Dressrosa right then and there and took things into their own hands and suddenly Doflamingo is gone, Kaido isn't even needed anymore and Law is free from that burden and now feels indebted to Luffy and is sticking to the agreement he made even if his big goal is already achieved. That's why the focus during Zou changes from making the alliance around Mom, Kinemon etc. and their ties to Wano, because Lawmight have started this, but they are the real main reason to continue.
