Also translations sound sometimes harsher than they are. Paul didn't rape her in the original japanese wording. Paul is still scum

Rudy as a character is very very complicated. That sparks controversy. (most characters in this show are very multilayered) Also culture clashes as well as other things. People only seeing black and white... I won't go further into it. Best to form your own opinion

Fun fact: the reason Zenith gave in to Rudy trying to defend Lilia is because it was the first time that it looked like Rudy actually loved his family. Before that she always thought the Rudy didn't love them because of unnaturally distant he was
