Just to clarify, he was talking about the demon Rimuru summoned to possess the golem he made to replace the magic mech he destroyed, not Chloe.

When the Cloee went through the spirt summoning, Black (demon) made the comment that a member of his own family beat him to being summoned.

This story wasn't in the light novels, or the manga, so it really isn't part of the main story, although it doesn't contradict anything either. It would have been hard to fit it in Season 2, and if they had tried, I think some people wouldn't have liked it.
