I saw this movie when it was in theatres, with my dad who only saw the first couple of episodes (thanks to my DVD collection), and honestly... I thought the movie was okay. The effects were decent, but the acting was... woof. I really wanted it to be about the POST-Avatar plot, focused on finding Zuko's mother, 'cause we only got that in book form, not animation. The fact they tried to cram so many episodes from Book 1, is shockingly questionable, but they did it.

the camera movement is so fucking slow, every fight looks so weird because of that and makes the CGI look way worse than it actually is. No energy to speak of, it's a snooze fest. Also they did my boy Zuko dirty, what a shame. And the less said about the whitewashing the better. But great reaction you guys!

It's kind of amazing how underwhelming everythin about this movie feels. Everything feels slow and rushed at the same time, bending takes forever, the acting is wooden, dialogue feels completely out of order, just amazing Also, I love some of the choices they took. Why does everyone need to bow to Aang? Why is Sokka not funny? Why does fire have to exist to be bent? Why is Rokhu's dragon a spirit? Why is do we need an "Avatar-Test" where the elements react to the avatar? Why are there 4 random waterbenders that just kill Zhao and leave?!? Fantastic XD

The movie is wild because even if you excuse the character building, fight choreography, and acting (a bunch of which are children so it’s kinda ok), the editing in this is so rough. Y’all even noticed the (multiple) hard cuts to a new scene are so sudden that it would be a problem even w/o all the other issues! Lmao With atla/tlok under your belts it was a real treat to see this vid

Shyamalan made a lot of bad decisions but the worst was to have firebenders be unable to produce their own fire. Imprisoning earth benders in a valley is already an awful decision, in the cartoon their spirits were broken because they were cut off from their element in the middle of the ocean but here they have full access to it and their captors aren't even particularly strong, just throw some dirt on the pot of fire they carry around and the firebenders are nerfed, this wouldn't even be a fight. This decision threw the balance between the elements off, firebenders are incredibly weak and would not be able to be a threat to the world.

Wow. What a garbage film that completely butchers the source material. Weird casting, bad acting, bad script, bad special effects. Shyamalan really took the money and ran with this one. Only good thing to come out of this film is that the actress that plays Princess Yue in this movie, Seychelle Gabriel, voices Asami in Korra.

It's crazy they went out of their way mispronouncing names so they're "more culturally accurate," yet they cast all the mains (minus the bad guys) as white actors

The worst part was that the actor who plays Ahng was actually a fun-loving kid (as well as a trained martial artist.) M. Night Shamalamadingdong just directed it all out of him.

"I wonder how they're going to do the humor". By having horrific acting and writing, as well as disrespecting the source material, the cultures it's derived from, and martial arts lol the only thing you can do is laugh. Wasn't expecting this notification, great as always!
