As far as I understand it, Benimaru is called a pro-nationalist here, because he chooses to state his family name first instead of his given name, like it's actually done in Japan? Like he prefers SHINMON Benimaru instead of Benimaru SHINMON. And in this current post-Japan Tokyo Empire world, they seem to prefer the "western" naming conventions instead, with stating their given names, well, first? So it indicates to me, that Benimaru is, for a lack of a better word, old-fashioned and identifies with ideals of a pre-infernal Japan and not with the current empire/ Great Sol religion? And that is also the reason why he's showing so much disrespect to the Emperor here and walks out of the meeting? At least that's how I interpret the scene as someone who's never watched the show before. I actually wondered about this naming business before, because as far as I can remember, all characters were introduced with "western" naming conventions so far, like Shinra KUSAKABE instead of KUSAKABE Shinra, like you would typically expect it to happen in an anime/manga like Fire Force. I thought until now this is just a simple creative choice of the mangaka to make the names seem more "exotic" to the japanese audience or something, but now I'm curious if there is a deeper meaning to this.
