I think there is some misunderstanding here. There are essentially two types of "Demon Lord" in Tensura. One is an evolutionary stage for monsters and one is more of a political position of power, meaning they are on the Demon Lord council (The Ten Great Demon Lords). At his point in the story, Rimuru has reached the evolutionary stage of True Demon Lord, but he is not a part of the council. So yes he is a Demon Lord, but when they say Walpurgis is the "Demon Lords Banquet" that all Demon Lords attend, they mean the Demon Lords that are on the council, the political position. So technically he is not automatically invited to this event or expected to show up. They didn't show this in the anime, but Ramiris had to contact Guy to tell him Rimuru wanted to come and convince him to let Rimuru attend the meeting.

I just realized that if Clayman did become a True Demon Lord before the meeting, he wouldn't be able to go to it, because he'd probably be asleep. 🤣...... Rimuru tries to keep Raphael a secret as an advantage, especially in battle.
