Wan did what he saw fit in his era and Korra did what she saw fit in her era, I think its so unfair people compare their choices. Im SO glad you guys enjoyed this finale. Also if you listen closely, the soundtrack played when Korra was in the tree of time is mixed with the Last Agni Kai between Zuko and Azula. Its so beautiful I know yall are hyped for season 3.... its time we let go our Earthly tether and enter the void :)

Tenzin grew to recognize his pride, Korra grew to realize that her connection to the avatars/raava isn’t what defines her, and y’all grew to liking S2. What a story we’ve witnessed lol

For a show that began with "I am the Avatar! You gotta deal with it", the line "Wan became a legend of who he was, not what he was. He wasn't defined by Raava any more than you" is such a great development of the shows themes and Korra as a character

the decision to cut ties to the past avatars has honestly made me appreciate this season so much more. This season was all about finding your identity and forging your own path, so severing the avatar connection was so fitting. In a lot of ways, this is the writer's way of showing the audience that Korra is a show separate from ATLA, with its own themes and strengths

Just to answer why people don't like season 2 so much, I think a lot of it has to do with the decision to cut Korra's connection to the previous Avatars. That's what I hated too. But regardless, Seaosn 3 is AMAZING, you'll love it! :)

I love that you guys appreciate the OST for the Avatar universe so much. The theme and motifs they use for the big bad next season is so.... sinister. It really sets the mood.
