Best part of Korra is the 2 episodes that focus on the origin of the first avatar. Other than that... the fighting choreography is superb and even better than ATLA, but I don't like any of the main characters because they just pushed the teen drama much too far. It's basically teen drama show first, fantasy-adventure second.

What does toph need to learn? What life changing thing is there? Katara needed to learn about forgiveness and not to put her hurt onto others, especially when they are trying to be better themselves. Aang needed to master his fear of firebending and learn how to do it. Sokka was uncertain of himself and not sure if his way of thinking was right anymore after how the invasion that he had been planning for months ended. Toph? Even in book 2, she stated that she knew who she was even after those girls made fun of her makeup. Nothing has really happened to make her waver from the knowledge that she is a bada** female. Plus the comet is right over there, barreling towards the planet, with no Avatar in sight. Life changing journeys are over O.O

I think korra is underrated... granted ALTA is much better but hoo boi season 3 of korra makes it worth it

Korra recommendation: don't try to compare TLOK with ATLA. Go in with an open mind. TLOK is its own show. There were some production issues with Nickelodeon that effected the show, but it's still a great show with incredible themes, story telling, and animation.

korra is good if you go into it not thinking about aang remember aang was a monk korra isnt an airbending master monk. aang was the last. and korra isnt a child so emotions are more ... idk complex but that could also lend back to she's not air monk. and then she has to deal with a lot more b.s. on top of that.
