Hard to explain but Kyoshi in the books was able to manipulate the different elements within her body to extend her life span. Something to do with earth bending minerals and water bending certain fluids idk I’ll have to re read. So she basically let her self pass when she felt she was done.

Yesss, finally reached my second favorite character~! Toph and Sokka are the best in this show, in my opinion.

Going off of what you guys were saying about them living a long time, Kyoshi lived for 230 years. She was also one of the tallest Avatars. I haven't looked into this, but I believe that Earth Benders tend to live the longest out of all the nations just based on some of the characters that have been shown throughout the ATLA universe. Now, regarding the Boulder, he is meant to be a reference to the Rock. They wanted Dwayne Johnson to voice him, but they got his old tag team partner Mick Foley to do the voice.
