Rebel Pilot

Been binging these reactions. Man water 7 is truly a great arc. Pacing nice. High emotional stakes. Intrigue. And character growth or deep dive. Lysop being so ashamed to face the crew cause he got beaten so badly and lost the money. Evennami only showing concern. The cold revenge of our monster quartet. And luffy being serious and responsible

Water 7 arc is so deep

I feel so bad for Usopp here, as the Going Merry truly is his baby... Gifted by the girl he likes, to set off on his dream to become a manly man. Everything is just falling apart for him, and he hasn't even been told about Merry!

The feelings have only just begun, my dudes. As Samuel L. Jackson said in Jurassic Park: Hold on to your butts.

These episodes are so frigging good. Seeing Luffy and the gang among the destroyed ruins of Franky House is SO satisfying.

luffy assessed the situation, the ship WILL sink no matter what they do, he is being responsible, and it will still get only worse jesus

In regards to Luffy's decision at the end, I think Iceburg's line earlier combined with what just happened to Usopp is key there. The "and you call yourself a captain" cuts pretty deep in that regard. As a captain Luffy is responsible for his crew and their safety and endangering everyone traveling on a broken ship is something he might happily risk for himself but his own recklessness is also putting the others in danger. And them being reckless with the money is another reminder. Usopp actually asked Luffy earlier to keep an eye on him, and yet he gets beaten up and robbed while Luffy is jumping around elsewhere.
