Man, I remember the thrill of this episode when they finally go up the knockup stream. What a rush ❤️

To organize this information: Ace and black beard were both on white beard’s crew, but black beard fled after killing someone on their ship and Ace is now searching for him as revenge. Shanks is not associated with any of these people but wants to talk to white beard about something important. The government fears both of them talking because of how important and strong they supposedly are.

Damn this is so satisfying, I can't hold my ear to ear smile when I'm watching these episodes with you two, and by the way, you better remember Whitebeard and Blackbeard in details, they are very very very important to the story, Whitebeard is my favorite one tho, I respect him so much

I reeeaally love how Prez described Luffy and Blackbeard is relationship, how they're opposites but they meet in the middle when it comes to dreams, like a cross, A pirate cross :D

i'm glad you found ep151 as one of the best episodes(●'◡'●). ep 151 is exactly why we love One Piece (ofc along with the sad flashbacks) If someone told me to describe One Piece in one sentence it'll be " the world is so big yet so small " because on the surface One Piece seems like a big world with random adventures but the deeper you get into it the more you discover how things are somehow.. related to each other. how Luffy met Blackbeard, the man that Ace, Luffy's older brother is after. how Shanks, Luffy's role model is going to meet up with Whitebeard, Ace's role model. these are just small examples at how things are going in circle and how they're relating to each other❤️🔥

based on what i heard, in japanese beard (Hige) could mean beard AND mustache, so maybe the " beard " in Whitebeard refers to the mustache that he has....... or maybe Oda just wants to troll us 😂

It's funny they both have the "beard" title, but neither have a beard. XD Though, at least Blackbeard has some stubble..? Pfft. Skypiea arc is about to finally start proper~! Regardless, the build up to it is great, as I really enjoyed the world building and cast in Jaya (not counting Bellamy, of course, haha).

Back in the time, I already loved One Piece a lot before these episode. The grand scheme of the One Piece these shown hooked me in even more. And the episode 152, when flying to the sky, I already classified One Piece is my love of entire life. Maybe a uncommon comment to other fans, Skypiea arc was one of my favorite arc, top-tier arc. But actually, there was very few, even no arc was no good.

Whitebeard and Blackbeard introduced in the same ep.

Jaya is such a good setup arc, short and sweet with a good balance of action and information. And now it's time for Eminem

YE bounties are perceived threats to the world goverment, you strong? huge bounty, you strong and did heinious acts or killing civilians? even more money on your head, did something that can compromise the world? u get the point
chow
Just remember how the world government is very scared by WHITEBEARD and SHANK having any form of contact.

Yeah you get introduced to a ton of people in these handful of episodes so it does get a bit confusing. Honestly all you really need to know at this point is that the warlords serve as privateers for the world government. They have a lot of freedom in how they can act (Doflamingo running an island business and 3 entire warlords not showing up to a meeting) BUT if there is something important then the warlords are essentially required to follow orders or lose their status. That's why most, if not all, pirates look down on warlords as "dogs".

Still watching the reaction, but regarding the "Bounty" talk, keep in mind the Bounties are set by the Navy/Government, they aren't set purely by strength, but they have political meaning. Remember the Navy made a big deal of Smoker being the one who defeated Crocodile (to cover things up), so from a political point of view it would be odd to suddenly give Luffy a HUGE bounty, they wanted to increase it cause he is a threat and they want people to go after him, but they have to be able to rationalize their decision. Bounty prices are a big point of debate in the community and it's often forgotten that these are set by people with their own motivations.
