Me too it's really stupid, what if a straw hat dies because of a woman and Sanji did nothing but watch it's dumb as fuck. Women are not that weak in One Piece, on the contrary they had to develop either a strong mentality or strength in order to survive. Look at Nami and Robin...

Ah man, I really dislike the Sanji stuff regarding women. It's just so needlessly patronizing, and it will sadly not be the last case of a woman not being taken seriously by a male opponment and having to fight another woman instead.

Also, Sanji's chivalry towards women is a foreshadowing to something, you're correct. There is a REASON why he refuses to hit women, a few reasons, actually. He's more than just a simp and this is the first actual glimpse we can see of something deeper. Sanji's development will blow your mind. He's my favorite for a reason!

I like giraffes... but they are NOT my favorite animal. XD That'd be foxes. Still~! Haha, that first episode is a hoot, the gags are really top tier One Piece. Very needed after all the drama in Water 7. I also really like Kaku in general, as he's got the looks of Usopp and Sanji, but the fighting style of Zoro and Sanji. Very interesting dude~! I do feel bad for Sanji in the second episode, unable to fight Kalifa properly due to his moral-hang ups. He totally would have won otherwise... But yesss, that OP is one of my favorites. Prob one of my top three.

Shoutout to nami again for pulling through. Her being a thief always comes in clutch. Also Crazy Rainbow star is still one of the best openings in my opinion. The song and visuals always put a smile on my face.

The thing with Kaku is, despite being one of the bad guys, he is also still kind of wholesome in a weird way to me. I sort of believe that he actually thinks giraffes are pretty cool and that he does like his devil fruit. And then him arguing with Jabra who just keeps making fun of it, is just too fun.

I think what makes it work really well is the amount of different fights at once, it changes scenes often enough to make it reset in case you're "bored".

Idc what some people say, I absolutely love Kaku's fruit and I feel like it fits his already cartoonish design very much. It also made me love Kaku even more cause just being the one cool-headed and normal guy of the group was a bit boring, now he's more fun.

Glad to see you enjoy the absoulte sillyness of these fights early on. I sometimes see people almost annoyed by it but for me the fact that we just went from Robin's insanely tragic backstory to absolute comedy madness, has always been quintessential One Piece to me. One Piece can often have me crying on one page but is then often just one or two page flips away from the last few of those tears coming out while already laughing again. And for some reason I don't mind that at all and it (at least to me) usually perfectly works out and doesn't feel like it takes away from either the tragedy or the comedy.
