Fun fact: Chopper's Flashback ends on Manga Chapter 145. Due to history and stuff there are TONS of (not normal) ways to read numbers in Japanese - which is why Japanese has a word play called "Goroawase" where you basically write in numbers. The chapter ends with Hiriluk saying: "A monster is coming soon. He's my son. Don't hurt him. What a great life I've had. Thanks Chopper!" The numbers 145 can be read as "Aisu ko" which means "The son I love" Oda does lots of word plays like this

One thing that is brilliant about chopper's flashback in the manga that wasn't sadly like that in the anime was its placement. In the anime, the whole story is told all at once by Kureha to Nami. But in the manga, she only tells the first part. After that Wapol arrives, Luffy runs out and right before his fist lands on Wapol's face, just between "Gum-Gum Bul-" and "-let", the flashback is inserted. And after it ends, the present continues right away with an absolutely satisfying punch to the face.

The line Hiriluk says about "no man dies unless he's forgotten" is sooo powerful. It's such a truth, especially regarding history. That scene really hits strong even after rewatching it multiple times.

You are right, Chopper's voice actor does a great job 😁 And I think what's even more interesting than her also playing child Sanji, is that it's straight up the same lady who voices Pikachu in all Pokemon adaptations.
