Yeah often people love to overhype things but damn this show is THAT good

Literally same reaction as you guys to this show. I knew ppl liked it a lot but I've heard the same about other shows that turned out to be not for me. This show however was immediately incredible and Anya is so cute!

Huh, I'm surprised I haven't watched a lot of horror-horror anime... At least, nothing that comes to mind. I've always enjoyed shows that are more mystery/suspense and eerie then horror. If you want something like *that*, I'd suggest Mushishi, Iria, Mermaid's Scar (OVA), Paranoia Agent, or Digimon Tamers (ending half).

Actual facts here ^^^ I'm not sure if the original anime aged very well but when I watched it in my early anime watching days, the HIgurashi series was the creepiest and most haunting I had watched

We need more of this and parasyte is horror

Kakurenbo is a pretty decent short horror anime movie, but the medium doesn't really have great Horror shows. The Uzumaki anime airing in October of this year might change that though.

Also about horror animes, the Junji Ito Collection is pretty good--Junji Ito is a manga artist, known for creating really creepy, vivid, bizzare stuff. (just look up junji ito on google and go to images lol) There's two horror stories per episode.

First time watching this, I saw the title and I'm like "ugh, slice of life? this might not be good" and then I watched it and hell yeah it's good

Ghost Hunt has some pretty good creepy stories, but there really isn't any GOOD horror anime....Another and Higurashi both have very gory deaths.

Horror, the original "Higurashi no Naku Koro ni" from 2006 https://myanimelist.net/anime/934/Higurashi_no_Naku_Koro_ni
