Review: LaunchKey MINI MK3, Generative arp, Live integration and TRS MIDI rant

Hi!
Novation just announced the MK3 version of its Launchkey Mini, and, aside from new features for controlling Ableton Live (many improvements but at points a slower workflow), it also has a built-in generative arpeggiator which can be used standalone with its TRS A type MIDI output.
Yes! Novation has switched sides and gone from TRS B (the MIDI "standard" that didn't win, used by Arturia, 1010Music and Novation til today) to TRS A (Korg, Make Noise, Akai).
If you have no idea what I'm talking about (it's in my book BTW...), then this video explains what TRS A and B are, and three ways to bridge the gap.
I love TRS MIDI - it's so much easier than using 5 PIN cables, so hopefully, the standard will drive increased adoption of this format.
Aside from ranting about standards I also cover how Launchkey Mini MK3 controls Ableton Live, in case you're interested, and of course, explain the mutate and deviate features of its generative arpeggiator.

I've not investigated 2.0 yet, I'm waiting for there to be an actual practical implementation. Theoretically yes, you can send any information over the same 3 wires.
So, as we enter the era of MIDI 2.0, will 3 wire cables suffice?
