Lick Of The Day #5 - Guthrie Govan #2
🕑 Added 2019-01-26 14:55:32 +0000 UTCTime to look at the second Guthrie Govan lick! This one is taken from his work with the Aristocrats again, it's from the track 'Sweaty Knockers'. That's the hardest lick we have looked at so far and it took quite some time to learn it. The different rhythmic groups are quite challenging and you should start very slow when you learn it - we are dealing with quintuplets, triplets and other interesting groups here and that's why this one is such a great exercise.
Listen to it a couple of times until you understand where the accents fall. You can see it in the tab and guitar pro file, learn the groups that land on each beat seperately before you combine them! You don't need to play this one very fast, it's much more important to me that you play it clean and understand all the complex rhythmic phrases in it.
