Defeating the Cultists Chapter 3
🕑 Added 2024-04-26 18:00:08 +0000 UTCI screamed in pain as Helga lifted her fat foot off of mine. I could feel it throbbing, and I heard a crack when the pain started. I hoped nothing was broken. It was just my luck; my first day on the job, and I was already immobilized. And even worse, I was supposed to be undercover. The point was to lay low, blend in with the others so nobody suspected me of everything. Now I doubt anyone thought I was a secret agent at this point, but I had certainly attracted a lot of attention.
A man lowered himself next to me. He was older, and he placed one hand on my foot, as if looking for something. A circle had formed around me, with everyone looking on in great interest. I wanted to crawl in a hole and die. Helga looked down at me, her massive frame easily wider than three people. After carefully perusing my injured foot, the older man looked me in the eyes.
“Son,” he said. “I think you’re gonna be okay. We need to get you to my medic bay, and I don’t think you’re going to be able to walk for a few days, maybe a week. But I think you’re going to be okay.”
“Thank you, Doctor…”
“Doctor Henley,” he said, with a warm smile. He stood up, then reached down for me. I took his hand and pain shot up my leg. I grimaced.
“Still not good enough even with help…” the doctor muttered. “We’re gonna need to find a way to carry you.”
“I’ll do it,” Helga said in a high pitched voice.
The doctor looked worried. He looked at me with concern, his thick brow scrunching up. He looked back at her.
“Helga, I don’t know about-”
“I can do it. I stepped on him, I should be the one to save him,” she said. With ease, she lowered down and scooped me up like a mother does to a baby. She cradled me in her arms, my head resting against one of her massive breasts. She swayed back and forth, proving how light I was to her. It was like I was just a toy in her hands. If I ever felt the least bit like a man, that was probably the moment. Being carried like a baby by a fat girl in front of everyone was completely humiliating. If I had to leave a progress log, I was definitely going to leave this bit out.
“Thank you, Helga,” the doctor said. “And I take it by now you know where my med bay is, right?”
She nodded.
What did they mean by that?
She carried me out of the bar and through town. People constantly turned their heads to stare as she walked with me in her arms. The pain had subsided in my foot. I wasn’t sure if it was the sheer embarrassment, or if I had some adrenaline, or maybe it was just getting better. Either way, hopefully this wasn’t serious, like the doctor said. I wasn’t here for sightseeing, I had a job to do.
“Honey, I am so sorry about stepping on your little foot,” Helga said. “By the way, what is your name?”
“Um… T-Todd…” I said, remembering my fake name. “And don’t worry about it, it’s not your fault. I was… standing there…”
“No, I’ve been hurting people a lot lately,” she said. “I guess I’m just really clumsy. I don’t know if you saw earlier but… my husband was…”
I could tell she was fighting back tears. Yes, I was there at the funeral. I had heard rumors from my drivers. The more she spoke about this traumatic experience, the more tightly she held me. I got the sense she lacked an understanding of her own strength, so I would choose my words carefully.
“Helga… what exactly happened to him?”
“We had just gotten married. It was so beautiful… so romantic. We went to the mating shack. I don’t know, he just seemed nervous. I know I was. He took off his clothes, but his face was so… I don’t even know how to explain it. By the time we were ready-”
“Helga! Careful!” someone shouted.
“Oops,” she said, realizing she almost walked through a fire pit. It took some power to stop a woman of her size in motion, and she clutched me tight when she did it. Her hand easily controlled my entire upper body, and unbeknownst to her, shoved my face into her exposed breast. Even just the breast flesh popping out of her top was enough to completely smother my face. I didn’t even think she realized I was being smothered by it, but she made sure she didn’t crash into anything.
“Now where was I…” she started.
I was pressing my hands into her chest, trying to pry away, but she was securing me very tightly. It was as if she forgot that she no longer needed to protect me, like she was just holding me in a forever state of seizure. Nothing I was doing was working, and she wasn’t really noticing my failing attempts to escape.
“Helga, you’re suffocating him!” came the man’s voice that warned her.
“No,” I heard her say. “I’m carrying him to the med bay.”
“No… Helga, you’re suffocating him RIGHT NOW. Look at his face! He’s turning blue!” the man explained.
I assume she looked down at me at that moment. I was still struggling with her powerful grip, but I was losing strength fast. I felt it lessen and pull me away, and air rushed back into my body. I gasped and let my body go limp, conserving energy, trying to get my focus back. She held me effortlessly as I regained my strength.
“My, you are just the most fragile little boy I’ve ever met,” she said, looking down at me like I was a baby.
“I’m sorry… It’s just… I’m not…”
“Oh no,” she said. “I think it’s kind of cute.”
We arrived at the med bay right after all of that went down. I was annoyed that I never got my answer about just what happened to her husband. I felt like that was a clue to what was going on here, but I didn’t want to look like I was prying into anything, so I didn’t bother asking. She placed me into one of the beds, and the doctor followed shortly, standing over me and taking off my shoe.
“Thank you, Daisy,” he said.
“I’ll come back to check on you later,” she said, warmly, then turned around and walked away, closing the door behind her.
“Poor woman…” he muttered, then took a look at my foot.
He prodded it and poked it, testing where it hurt, how it could move, and more. I still had pain, but it wasn’t as severe as it was back at the bar. Still, mobility was clearly an issue, and I could only imagine what it would feel like to try and stand up again. After a lengthy discussion of options, and a limited amount of supplies to do them with, we agreed that a stay in the infirmary was in order, to the extent that I may be bedridden for at least a few days, and limping for more than that.
A few hours had gone by when I was visited by Agent Parker, who I was having to remember went by Darren in these parts. Even if my foot was shattered, I had to remember that I was on a mission, and I was supposed to be Todd. Todd didn’t know a lot, and was easily swayed. He also knew his own damn first name.
“Oh thank god, I was dying of boredom-”
“You idiot!” Agent Parker whispered through bared teeth. I could tell he was not pleased to see me holed up in the infirmary. I could tell he would strangle me if we weren’t in the eye of the enemy.
“Sorry… I…”
“Sorry you what? Became the talk of the village? Got yourself injured? Do you know how many rules of being a secret agent you’ve broken already, and you haven’t even been here a full day yet?”
“What could I do? Helga stepped on me, it wasn’t like I picked up her leg and placed it on top of me.”
“You’re a secret agent and you’re being beaten by a bumbling fat girl. You really need to get your head in the game.”
“Did you just come here to ridicule me?” I asked. “Look, I know I screwed up. I’m not exactly enjoying myself right now.”
He sighed heavily.
“No, there’s more. I… I think the leader might be on to me,” he said, pulling back his aggressive tone and changing to a more defensive one.
“How? Why do you think that?”
He looked around before speaking.
“I don’t know, he’s just been acting… differently around me. It used to be a pretty open line of communication, but now he’s setting up channels and requiring additional approvals through other people.”
“Maybe he’s just getting more careful with his process?”
“Maybe…” he said, not sounding fully confident. “Oh, by the way, Agent Sharp will arrive tomorrow. Her name is Michaela. Do try your best not to fuck that up for us as well, okay TODD?”
“Yes sir,” I said, knowing he was belittling me and forcing myself not to take it personally. I wanted so badly for him to respect me, but it was kind of hard to impress anybody with my foot being the way it was. And now Susan was going to be here? There was no doubt she was going to find out how I injured my foot. Not through some heroic deed, not through some treacherous action scene. A ridiculously fat girl broke it by stepping on me, then carried me like a baby to the infirmary.
I would just have to play it cool when she got here. I decided I would avoid talking about the incident and keep focused on moving forward.
The next morning, I was awoken to an enormous present standing at my bedside. As I opened my eyes and adjusted to the impossibly fat woman on my right, she bent down, her fat face inches from mine.
“Good Morning, Sweetie!” she said.
“G-Good morning… Helga…” I said.
“I have some exciting news… I’m getting married again!”
