Sorry for late reply, but (not official, but I see no reason why not) In the anime Code Geass (wonderful, really recommend watching) Japan is invaded and Colonised by the Britannian Empire, and each one of its Colonies are given area numbers and Japan is referred to as Area 11. Two of their songs from ATLITS are directly about this show too, Euphemia (Princess Euphemia) and Knightmare-Frame (The Mechs used in battle).
