🕑 Added 2022-05-22 05:14:13 +0000 UTCSo, the genesis of this drawing was that I had an idea for a Diane + Wolf drawing, but I decided I wanted to do something simpler and easier to get used to drawing in the Bad Guys' style before I went for an elaborate piece.
Then I somehow turned the "simple" drawing into one of the hardest things I've ever tried. New art style, lots of props, tons of rendering, lighting experiments, whatever. I'm pretty happy with it regardless.
I've seen people unhappy that Diane's gotten so much attention as a furry waifu or whatever because she's got a fairly plain design, and I get it to some extent. BUT. Characters' designs, especially in animation, are ultimately a canvas for them to express their personality, and that's where she really shines.
I'm just about equally taken with Diane, Wolf, Snake and Tarantula, but I had to start somewhere. ;)

Thanks so much! I think the main most important thing is understanding the 3D shapes enough to estimate where shadows would fall. That's taken the most practice me to get better at over the years. (in this case I had a 3D mockup that gave me a really good starting point for painting the light tho haha)
