A short break
🕑 Added 2022-09-05 22:50:41 +0000 UTCThis month may be a little lighter than normal. I hope you all can bear with me for a bit as I sort out some stuff. I will still have content to post (especially NSFW content). I'll still put together some formalized way you can send me your TTRPG guys and which of mine you want to match them with. It just may be lighter this week and may not come until later in the month.
I've been wrestling with some stuff related to my artistic identity lately. That almost sounds pretentious when I write it out, but it's more or less the center of the issue. I still enjoy drawing, so I'm not going to stop anytime soon. I've just had a hard time connecting to my work and finding that spark of passion and I just realized it today. It's hard for me to figure out why I draw what I draw, and it sorta feels like I'm going through the motions lately.
In other words, drawing is still fun but I don't find it exciting right now, and I'm not really sure why.
I'm going to take a bit of time for some self-reflection and experimenting to see if I can reconnect with that spark. I spent a good hour or so writing in circles in my journal earlier when it hit me that I need to get out of my head for a little bit. So I'll be doing just that.
Like I said, I'll still have content to post. I have to finish the calendar and I have a few other pre-existing obligations. For most of this month, it may be more in the form of studies, practice drawings, exploration, and experimentation. I think I need to take some time to consume more than create and this will be part of it. I'm not sure what else to do, but I hope this will help me either reignite the spark or find a new one to keep me moving.
I have no intentions to stop drawing anytime soon. I enjoy it as a hobby, if not a profession. I just need to figure out a deeper meaning or something so I can really find the passion in it again.
