Photo Morph - Giant Octopus Merge TF
🕑 Added 2023-06-20 01:13:48 +0000 UTCMy friend and partner in tf crime Hare (https://twitter.com/HareAfterDark?t=YaDToSQ7jUxuVabNz9l4UA&s=09) suggested a particularly mean tf involving 9 people merging together to create one octopus, 8 of them becoming tentacles and one the head (since octopus tentacles kind of have their own neuron clusters like "mini brains", although obviously not quite individuals). As I was working on it, I came up with the theme of having some cultish scientists in a futuristic med bay conducting research on a Cthulhu statue...and they accidentally triggered this monstrosity.
After I started working on it, I was like...Deep Ones def wouldn't give a shit about distinguishing between human individuals and clusters of tentacle neurons...it's like a "the best way to worship Cthulhu is to give up your individuality and become a single octopus" (even if you didn't intend worship). The closest theses individuals can get to being godlike is becoming one single entity...unfortunately, none of the individual tentacles will have their own full consciousness, but will become part of the whole that is the octopus.

Thats such a good merge !!! I so love the horror in there faces and the expressions are so clearly stated in there !!! Really its one of the reasons i love your work so much

Yeh, that is one of my favorite parts of tf. I am glad there's others who appreciate it, and thank you! I don't really take story comms, but hit me up in pms if you've got an idea, never know. It'd have to be something I feel tho.

Going off your previous fruit tf, you seem to have a really interesting and descriptive way about how these tfs mentally affect people... the fact that fruits are essentially the reproductive parts of a plant, the direction you went with it was something that made perfect sense and was super hot, imo...id love to see a story here as well. I'm curious as to how the whole "going from an individual consciousness to a tentacle slave consciousness" would work, what with the notion that octopus tentacles have a sort of mind of their own... kinda... Do you take story commissions?

I really like the ongoing chaos with this group transformation. I like the work done on the texture of the skin. I really feel bad for the head part of the octopus, which is somewhat paradoxal as he gets the best role out of it. A small drawback for me however, I don't really understand how the tentacles merge with the rest of the octopus. One is quite far from the group. It would have add to the overall horror to show the merging.

I appreciate it, one of my favorite parts of transformation is what happens in the transition of consciousness/mind, especially when the individual becomes something else entirely, whether a feral animal or an unthinking object. Unfortunately in this work I didn't do edits beneath the layers that were covering up as a way to do the work in a reasonable amount of time, but I liked the idea of leaving that to the imagination.

You for sure have a way with words that enhances a lot of your work; as in describing the things that are almost inexpressible in artwork, such as the fate of consciousness. I also like the way you've kept the human-like skin colour, to me it helps to enhance the feeling of reality of the change - as in one can imagine suckers forming out of one's skin. I'm curious actually - do you have versions of these individuals in isolation (as in without the overlap)? I'd be interested to see the various anatomy changes.
