What this means for endusers:
* Developers familiar with SDL can get to grips with libretro easier.
* We can get ports of existing SDL games up and running quicker as libetro cores, they can run inside RetroArch, everybody benefits!
One of the first things to come out of this will be a fleshed out port of OpenTyrian. If it weren't for Libretro SDL, it would have taken many more months before OpenTyrian would be up and running inside RetroArch!
To temper expectations a bit:
1. This is a Proof of Concept. Don't expect everything to work great out of the box.
2. We are currently using libco in order to implement the basic SDL runloop and have it play ball with libretro's runloop.
3. Right now this is a SDL 1.2.15 implementation. If we are ever going to do a SDL 2 libretro implementation, it will likely be a separate project.
Lastly, give R-Type a huge amount of credit for this! This project would have languished on for many more months were it not for his immense efforts!
