Chapter 3 Teaser/Dev log

First of all the results of the naming poll for the catboy fisherman are in and the name Caspian won! I think this is a nice sea themed name for this character. Perhaps we'll call him Cas for short or he might have another nickname...
Since the release of 0.2.8 I've been working on getting the game's code ready for chapter 3. There hasn't been as much work required as there was to get chapter 2 ready but there's still some new abilities and expansion of existing game mechanics to work on. More of that was talked about in the September dev log. Beyond that I've been working mostly on Hero's new dragonform and Lyric's new bard class as well as cleaning up some of the old character class code to try to fix up any bugs and oddities.
I've also been working on many new characters and monsters. Sebastien and Caspian will be joining as support characters. Although they won't be full party members, they should still have a sizable role in the game. Sebastien will eventually have his role filled in for Chapter 1 and 2 and then for chapter 3 he will have a side quest that should be pretty fun.
The party will meet Caspian in chapter 3 and he will offer his help, as long as hero is willing to help him out first...
Chapter 3's main storyline continues to get hammered out to the point of planning each individual scene and boss fight. There is still much work to be done creating the new monsters and antagonists as well as coding the new scenes and battles.
The first new release for chapter 3 is likely to be a fairly barebones test build that will include the new mechanics to be play tested but I'd also like to have at least one new monster in there for a bit of fun. I'm aiming to release something in January, whatever can be safely released without messing up save progression.

Maybe but it's obviously more complex to animate 3 characters together.

I've enjoyed the game very much so far, looking forward to your future updates! I was overjoyed to finally find a game with good quality male-on-male animations that isn't a friggin' visual novel! I'm so tired of seeing those. Just curious, will there be more group animations added in the future? The only group animation I've found so far that isn't a game over scene is the one with the two goblins. I'm really hoping there will be more content beyond one-on-one scenes added to the game, although those are enjoyable as well. Keep up the great work!
