Huh, that never even occurred to me. But I was going back through Hob recently and I noticed Kim's mother say (about Kusanagi) "I swear you'd think that machine was his real daughter." The way she says 'his real daughter' implies to me that the machine appears to be human. My theory is Kim is some kind of mechanical-biological hybrid that Kusanagi used to revive Azrael. No doubt all will be revealed.

Overall composition is briliant! Well... as always, but those assembly shots and the pre-final gaze was espessially touching for me (they're awesome *_*).
