Legend of Zelda: Clockwork Empire
🕑 Added 2014-09-29 19:40:12 +0000 UTC So last year I put together a hypothetical Zelda game where Zelda herself was the protagonist, called "The Legend of Zelda: Clockwork Empire." (http://dresdencodak.tumblr.com/post/47724463171/inspired-by-anita-sarkeesians-video-game-tropes) It was well-received, and this summer I started toying with a deeper and more thorough exploration of the concept. This was the finalized design for Zelda herself. One of these days I'll probably do more!

Pretty much! Since the setting of Clockwork Empire is post-Medieval, and Zelda herself carries no shield, it made sense.

Aha, that explains it! The side sword was an evolutionary stage between the arming sword (which the Master Sword sort of is) and the rapier.

@Robin - Thanks! It's a cross between the sword she briefly used in Twilight Princess and a European rapier. In the first version I had her with the Master Sword, but I secretly hate that sword's design, so I went with something new!

Fantastic. The sword is particularly beautiful; is it based on anything in particular? Looks similar to Renaissance side swords.

That is just awesome.
Take the "Legend of Zelda" out and make a comic from it. It's a great concept that demands further expansion and fruition.
If only I could buy prints of those! It was that post a year ago that got me into your comics, actually. What a year.
