What a weak argument to excuse such a serious and disgusting crime. They killed their parents brutally and premeditaded. I wouldnt jump to any conclusion because of a hunch. There could be countless reasons besides money.

Even though this was a tough episode the way they shot it was brilliant The zoom in while he was talking had me stuck to the screen. I was crying through the whole episode. They said that this was done in one shot.

Sorry this has nothing to do with Monsters, but there is a new show currently airing on TV but also streaming on Hulu (from FX) called Grotesquerie! The first two episodes are out and I was hooked in the first 20 minutes of the first episode! It’s also by Ryan Murphy, who made Monsters. Anyways, love y’all I enjoy y’all truly 💕

Pretty much all of these details come directly from Erik's testimony during the trial. Abuse wasn't commonly talked about and the details he gave were vivid. There was no way he was lying or making these things up. Even without all the other physical evidence of sexual abuse that was presented, I truly believe his testimony. And it's so sad that he was openly mocked on talk shows and by celebrities at the time. People ask all the time why they didn't speak up, but the reaction they got after recounting such traumatic experiences just reinforced the reasons why they didn't want to tell people.
