I do believe the look Alicent gives when Viserys walks into the throne room is one of concern for him. She has tears in her eyes and I think that's because she knows this isnt good for him. Yes part of it is probably also that this won't go their way, but that seems more her fathers agenda than hers. I love how all these actors can covey so many emotions with their looks.

No the writer said its unrequited love on Alicent end lol also they talked about it purely as a friendship thing as well and that’s from Ryan the creator/writer of the show himself.

I’m not sure if anyone has brought it up to you guys before, but Rhaenyra and Alicent loved each other when they were younger. Like, in a romantic way, not just besties way. Which makes everything they’ve done to each other that much more painful. They simply did not understand that of themselves and those close moments and looks they share with each other are a result of that love they once had. The producers and actors that play A and R have talked about it. Basically majorly repressed love, longing, and loss. So Alicent marrying her father … pain.

the comment section definitely goes crazy now so 🐉DRAGON/RIDER 👑 FACT. As we were told a few episode ago, not all dragon eggs hatch. In the series majority of our characters have had to claim an already living dragon, some whom had riders before. The only characters who have had a "cradle dragon" a dragon born to them are, Rhaenyra with Syrax, Laenor with Seasmoke. Rhaenyra's sons Jace, Luke and Joffery and Daemon's daughter, Baela also had dragons born to them. Even Viserys had to claim a dragon, he claimed Balerion the Black Dread which originally belonged to Aegon the Conqueror. Viserys was Balerion's last rider before the great conquest dragon, died of old age.

I'm not sure if you guys noticed, at the very end when it cuts to black, just before the king dies he reaches up and says "My Love" because he knows he's going to Aemma, the love of his life .......... bless him :(
