Still Wakes the Deep - HDR Optimized Settings
🕑 Added 2024-06-18 14:10:36 +0000 UTC
The game is NOT using/applying Xbox, Playstation or PC HDR Calibration app settings.
The game has a good HDR implementation as, even if it's not leveraging the system HDR Calibration, it actually offers an in-game Peak HDR Luminance slider in nits values which can go up to 10.000 nits along with an additional HDR UI Luminance slider.

If you have an LG OLED and:
> you're using Dynamic Tone Mapping or Dynamic Contrast:
Set HDR Content Brightness slider to: 4.000 (nits)
Set HDR UI Brightness to: 200 nits
> you're using HGIG:
Set HDR Content Brightness slider to: 800 (nits) or 1.000 (for G2/C4) or 1.500 (for G3/G4)
Set HDR UI Brightness to: 200 nits
If you don't have an LG OLED and:
> you don't have an HGIG option:
Set HDR Content Brightness slider to: 1.000 (nits)
Set HDR UI Brightness to: 200 nits
> you're using HGIG:
Set HDR Content Brightness slider to the corresponding real Peak HDR Luminance of your TV in "nits"
Set HDR UI Brightness to: 200 nits
BONUS:
Disable Film Grain & Chromatic Aberration: to much improve picture clarity. But if you want to preserve the '70s movie "style" you can re-enable them
Use Performance Mode on XSX/PS5: for the best smoothness, but notice that graphics will take an hit (especially animations). If you don't mind 30fps, re-enable Graphics Mode.
Enjoy :)

Yes, leave it at default

Should I just keep gamma at 110 percent even though that seems kinda high for default values no?
P40L0
Definitely. Personally I've disabled it in this and just use Frame Gen at 120fps for a real/pleasant (and not added) blur

Motion blur is way too strong in this game

Considering you can exactly configure Peak HDR Luminance in nits: HGIG

Would you recommend DTM or HGiG for this game on an LG CX?
