Important Updates!~ 🐥📣
🕑 Added 2024-03-17 04:39:36 +0000 UTCAhoi y'all~ Here's a very important update as to what's been happenin' this past week:
So as many of ya have probably heard either on Twitter, through other artists, or just through the grapevine (and as I've also briefly mentioned on the Duck Pond Lounge chat), early this week Patreon updated their ToS in a way that really negatively affects certain nsfw creators XT And especially creators of DiD or anything that can be considered depictions of nonc*n. This leaves the future of my Patreon page up in the air given how they can permanently suspend those who go against their vague and arbitrary ToS without warning, like what happened to a couple of my peers recently. This has been filling me with a lot of anxiety the past week since this is pretty much my job, and losing everything here wouldn't be too dissimilar from getting fired X0
So lately, I've been taking some precautionary measures. Like yesterday, I spent all day manually editing images for 200+ Patreon posts so they show a cropped and blurred image as a preview instead (with the full draw on dropbox as usual). x 0 x
But also, I've been taking time to get my SubscribeStar page up and running soon as well. I actually got it started up last month when my pal TiedTiki set theirs up too, but I digress~ I'm currently planning to post pretty much the same stuffs over there as I do here on Pat, so currently there wouldn't be any major benefit in choosing one over the other I guess~ 🤔 BUT in the event that all of Pat up and vanishes one day, all of the Duck Pond shenanigans will migrate primarily to the new pond over at SubscribeStar~ 🦆⭐

Here's my page that's still very much under construction aha but yee this'll be the duck pond's primary new home if things go south on Patreon. 🐥
(Note: plz don't sub over there just yet cuz I don't even have anything up haha)
But ye, I plan to keep things here on Patreon running the same as usual (but maybe with a bit more caution) until such a time that Pat will not allow me to continue. I hope this doesn't happen, but with the way things are looking it's best for me to have some contingencies like SubStar in place because it seems more likely than not.
Additionally, I've been thinking of finally opening up my own Discord server in the near future too~ 🤔 I noticed how much folks have enjoyed chatting over on the Patreon mobile app, and it'd be a shame to lose that interaction if my Pat suddenly vanishes. Plus, it'd be a good way of keeping this duck community together too!~ Plus other benefits like using Discord to send updates to y'all easier, distribute art/wips faster, etc. So ye, that's also something I've been rlly looking into lately!~
Anyways, I've been pretty stressed out this past week with all this so I didn't really get all that much drawing done... T v T/ (Taxes are not helping either haha..)
I'm hoping I'll have my drive back by at least Monday so I can keep getting some work done~
So yee I think that's about all for now~ Any questions or anything, feel free to comment them below~
And thanks so much for continuing to support me all this time y'all! ; v ;/ If this Pat does get nuked at some point in the future, I hope to see you again at the new SubStar Duck Pond~

It may be that the format between SubStar and Pat are more similar which makes the transition easier since we're already familiar with how to run our Pats. They also have some similar functions to each other like polls and such, which I'm not sure if Fanbox has.

You can't stop me! Gonna pay you from there too!

I'll follow you wherever you go, Mag, but I'm very excited about the prospect of a Discord! PLease make one of those for your patrons! :D

You're one of the first people I ever came here to support, so I'll happily follow you wherever you gotta go to. I hope the stress hasn't gotten to you too much Mag, if things do go south on this site I know you'll bounce back strong I know it ain't the end here just yet, but know that you've done a wonderful job in all your years here. Your fans will follow you wherever you go

Something I'm just curious about. Is there a reason why most artists seem to prefer Subscribestar over Fanbox as a place to flee to?

Honestly hating the way these sites are censoring their creators...

Sucks to hear that, but rest assured, the true ducks will always follow their mama regardless of the pond.

If Patreon does go the way of Tumblr, I will 100% move to SubscribeStar. That seems to be the place that most creators will be moving to, especially with Gumroad self destructing as well

I'm so sorry to hear that mag. I'm sure there's not much to worry about if you blurred your images, but if the unthinkable happens I wouldn't mind supporting you on another website. And if I may suggest an idea, if you feel under the microscope, maybe you could draw some non DID pictures, to give the impression you're on the up and up to the health inspector?

I plan on moving over if you do, already have for other artists. Let me know if you need help setting up a discord!

Them updating the terms of service like that is complete bs. Do they not realize more than half of DiD scenarios aren’t going to be consentual? Either way, I’ll support you wherever you end up going.

I Always will support you my friend.

it might be a bit of a pain, but you can post to both substar and patreon with things like postybirb - i've been doing that for a little while and it's doing the job ok. might make the shift over a bit easier if you can do it gradually!

Oh dear. I've heard whispers about the new ToS causing issues, but I didn't realize it had gotten this bad. :( That's awful to hear. Hopefully your efforts to stay within the guidelines work out, but if you do have to migrate to a different site, I'll follow you. Fingers crossed that it doesn't come to that, though! It would suck for you to have to redo all that work. On a more positive note, I think the Discord idea sounds really fun. I still haven't been able to engage in the Patreon chat feature, so being able to hang out on Discord would be a great alternative.

Your own discordserver would be awesome since i can't use the phone chat for some reason. And ye, what's happening with the pat tos is kinda bs tbh, i hope that you and others don't get kicked off this Platform just because you draw a bit more spicy pics.

Hoping things work out for the best Mags, and looking forward to a discord server🙌

Hope that Subscribestar won't be the only one left to use in the end... I'm from Taiwan and I can't use my Visa credit card to bind payment methods I'm still trying to figure this out...

I’m sorry to hear your week has been stressful with this on top of it, but whatever you choose to do the duck pond will follow!!1 We’ll support you however we can 🫶
Zack Morris
Thanks for the update. It sucks that both Gumroad and now Patreon are potentially shooting themselves in the foot with this. I'll support you however I can!
Smasherverse
Appreciate the update, I’m sure everything will be fine especially since you have a backup already in place. You’ve always been such a class act to your community so I’ll follow you wherever you need to go. ❤️

Thanks for the update, Mag. This helps other NSFW artists like me plan ahead as well.
Nonexistant3931
Suck to hear but I know I'll follow you to anywhere you end up. ❤️

Such a shame this is all happening, but you have my never ending support Mags~ I hope this page will be able to skirt around their vague TOS for a good bit longer, would hate to see all the hard work disappear You’re doing good Mags, can’t wait to see the wind back in your sails again
