🕑 Added 2024-09-16 14:31:28 +0000 UTCI've been feeling moody all summer, and I guess it continues. Not in a bad way necessarily, just restless.
It's kind of a long story but, this year I found out I have two hereditary health conditions which have greatly influenced this body shape which has made me - um, infamous. Neither of them are devastatingly serious or dangerous, so please don't worry.
But it explains not only the way I look, but more importantly how I feel. I've had low key chronic pain in my lower body since puberty, and now at least I know why. One is a common condition (chronic veinous insufficiency) for which I'm getting more information about treatment today actually. The other (lipedema) is much less researched and understood, so I'm still data-gathering about that one. I've actually been researching it for over a year, but there isn't a ton of information out there. Being diagnosed officially was not exactly a surprise. Last year I experimented with a ketogenic way of eating because that is basically the best self-care treatment for it, and it definitely made a difference. Unfortunately it is a super difficult diet and not easily sustainable.
I don't know, is it weird to share it here with you? I should also say I am super lucky to be very healthy otherwise, and like I said - neither of these are dangerous, but definitely frustrating and effect my daily life. Shall I keep you updated on what I find out?
