Manifesting a spear, the enigma engineer launched it at the creature mid-air, then a second one when she missed by a narrow margin. That one slammed into the monster’s head and ended its life instantly.
“Told you, you can do it!” John shouted encouragingly, when Hailey turned around. The helmet melted away into nothing as swiftly as it had appeared, letting her wild, dirty blonde hair fall freely again.
