Once across the bridge she rushed into a nearby corridor and dropped the swindling influence. It was difficult to maintain, unlike the much smaller trickery she had running to persuade all of the tiny spiders skittering around the Guild Hall that they were seeing nothing of interest. The blob shivered. Its task to dissolve the remains of a barbeque was discontinued. Instead, the cleaning slime crept in her direction. She ran as fast as she could. When she looked over her shoulder, she was met with the sight of an accelerating mass of deep blue goo, sprouting tendrils from its roiling mass. It hadn’t located her properly yet, but it knew the direction and it was getting closer.
Running for her love, she aimed at the outcropping of the Palace’s southern point. A black and white head peaked lazily out of the door, going from groggy to wide awake the instant it spotted her. An excited warble preceded the appearance of the rest of the Magryph’s body.
