“Alright, so, the question is who tags along,” John started their strategy discussion. In order to facilitate this in an orderly way, they had put on their clothes. Aclysia and Beatrice were hugging his sides and the barrier prevented any party from escalating the situation. John went over her Stats in detail first. Beyond the Physical, her Stats were rather odd to John. Her Spellpower was high, but not as high as he would have estimated, and her mana was abysmal. It somewhat explained why she needed so much time to muster her power. Her Libido was low by John’s standards, but it was important to remember that 10 was the actual ‘normal’ number.
Just out of interest, John opened up Lee’s Observe sheet to compare.
John was always happy to see her advances, even if they were modest compared to what else the harem had, Stat wise. This was in large part because Lee’s growth primarily occurred in the realm of learning Illusion Barrier engineering, so she didn’t get a lot of opportunities to increase her raw Stats. Regardless, living with the harem had drastically increased her power all around. Perhaps it would be worthwhile to let Lorelei go through the same steps. Learning how to do martial art meditation had never hurt anybody.
John stared at the Information box, his mood quickly sinking. Everyone else quickly noticed. They also understood once he asked, “You will lose your second sight?”
“In age, it will fade and eventually leave me fully blind,” Lorelei confirmed, her voice stable and tranquil. She was clearly at peace with the fact.
John was less interested in just letting that happen. “How long does ‘in age’ mean?”
“Depending on how intensely I use my blessing, I expect it to happen earlier or later in my forties,” Lorelei explained to him. “We Varniks have been living with this for generations, I do not loathe this fate. My gift will fade and my purpose will move on to my children.”
“Well, I still won’t let it happen,” John declared and the harem all around nodded. Speechless at the generosity surrounding her, Lorelei only sat there, mouth agape. “Fifteen years, that’s an acceptable time to research a remedy for this. If not a delay, then an alternative magic for you to learn.” He let the entirety of his earnest conviction flow into his words. Lorelei shuddered before he even said anything else. “You’re one of my loves now and I don’t let my loves lose anything important.”

Scarlett groaned and got up. “Guess that’ll have to be my job. There’s no way I’ll go on that Adventure.”
“I could do it,” Lee offered.
“You have other shit to do, I can work as long as I can connect with the internet.”
“May I ask what I require your aid for?” Lorelei asked. “My second sight does allow me to read.”
“You don’t have the Lover’s Will mark yet, so you can’t use the teleporter,” Scarlett explained. “One of us will have to accompany you so you can get there and back.”
“Oh… once Master marks me, I can freely visit the Warden?”
“I’d have done it already if I could,” John clarified before the question arose. “We’ll have to spend some more time together before that option is available.”
“I look forward to that- Oh, I require a shave!” Lorelei remembered his demand from yesterday. “I shall do that now, while you discuss the rest.” The decision was made swiftly, but nobody objected. Rave, whose attendance for the Adventure was already a done deal, guided the seer towards one of their regular bathrooms and showed her where they kept the various hair-removal methods.
“Alright, so you two aren’t coming along,” John looked at Scarlett and Lee. One nodded quicker than the other. Under other circumstances, the Gamer would have asked the young Fateweaver if she was certain. This could be a dangerous mission, however, and he didn’t want to risk taking her along. His eyes wandered over the rest of the harem. The elementals and Artificial Spirits would obviously follow him. That only left Eliana, Nathalia, Nia and Lydia to make a decision.
“I will accompany you on this first trip,” the queen said. “If it takes too long, however, I may have to leave early.”
“That’s fine.” John nodded. “I have to warn you though: I can only send people out of the Adventure if we’re in a safe environment. We might get stuck.”
“Does this require only you and the person you wish to send back to be safe or the entirety of the party?” Lydia asked for clarification.
“The former,” John told her. He had done a bit of testing in regular Adventures to test this stuff. “In crisis, there is always Escape Rope, but that ejects all of us and it does have a cooldown.”
“I am willing to take these risks,” Lydia asserted, a bit too strongly.
‘Someone wants to spend a little more time with me,’ John thought and smiled happily. Part of him wanted to tease her for it, but he was more than happy to just dwell on that fact. For her part, Lydia sipped on her tea, while unashamedly staring back.
“I will join,” Nia announced.
“Fucking… I don’t know, should I?!” Eliana asked nervously. “What if I get some kind of shit-eating panic attack and stomp off into the middle of ass-fucking nowhere?”
“Then I use Escape Rope and you stay here while it’s on cooldown,” John asserted in a strong voice. “All will be fine, just stick around me, alright?”
“Alright,” Eliana agreed in a small voice.
“You are strong,” Nathalia declared, her arms and legs crossed. The heel of the one foot she had on the ground repeatedly tapping, her entire body language seemed strained. “You will dominate, I’m certain of it.”
“What if I can only muster cocksucking Eliza’s useless fucking power though?” the blood mage asked.
“Then you will do that properly as well, otherwise I will beat it into you once you return.”
Gnome suddenly perked up. “Wait… aren’t you coming along?”
“No,” Nathalia responded hardly, partly to convince herself. “That my mate defeated a god convinced me to return, but the difference in our power is still vast. Outclassing Romulus is a task he needs to fulfil on his own power, and if I came along, I’d be too tempted to intervene. You understand, right, John?”
The Gamer nodded; he wasn’t surprised by her decision. “I’ll prove myself to you again,” he promised. No less strained, the dragoness nodded. Silence claimed the room, as they were done with the final preparation. Now they just had to start the Adventure.
“Master…” Lorelei’s voice reached them and they all looked towards the bathroom door where a naked Lorelei framed her now hairless crotch between her hands.
