0.26a Minor Update
🕑 Added 2023-07-13 00:16:17 +0000 UTC0.26a is out as promised! Weird in-between of a bugfix update and some actual new stuff.
Changelog;
- Updated to Renpy 8, which is necessary for future development and will hopefully help Linux/Steam Deck and Android compatibility/stability
- Fixed some issues with masteries showing up/not showing up inappropriately
- Added a rest point directly after the Volos battle
- Added a couple new tools in the cheat menu
- Various minor bug and typo fixes because Crys cannot be trusted near a keyboard
- New random event in Deepwoods Heart and revamped the wounded Hob event in Arden Expanse; spare/heal/flask-heal the hob for a small chance of him temporarily joining the party temporarily in Heart. You will need to re-run Expanse and trigger him one more time for this to work.
- Various UI improvements; the initiative list at top right of battles now shows animated health bars, including temporary allies, and ally sprites show up when selecting them in the ally picker. Maya's expressions get progressively cuter the more Affection she has! This will be expanded on later, but I wanted to try a beta version of that now.
Android 0.26a is now available as well.
The upgrade from Renpy 7 to 8 may cause unforeseen bugs - I playtested to catch the obvious ones, but some may be more pernicious. Please let me know if you run into any weird issues!

Renpy 8 definitely messed with some number displays, I've fixed the ones I found but some remain no doubt. Glad you liked the bars! Will look forward to hearing from ya~

Nice! I will be sure to try it out on my Android phone at some point. I did do one new run on pc and encountered no errors from start to finish. I'll be sure to send some feedback your way once I have done a few more. The main feedback I do have now is that the health bars in the initiative list are really helpful, I'm glad you added it in! Personally, the next UI improvement I would love to see, is an easier way to keep track of cooldowns as I find myself constantly looking through my abilities to figure out what has came off cooldown. I haven't been able to look at much else in this changelog yet, but I did try Athame for the first time and found it to be a very fun weapon to use. "Ritual Sacrifice" was just the skill I needed to complete my fire magic damage build. I will have to look at the other elements to see if it fits there also. I did encounter many faults with the Athame abilities and traits (no errors, but they either didn't work or did something different than intended) as well as huge decimals for mana costs / health costs for some reason. I will be sure to include them in the feedback I send once I am happy I caught them all.
