Sketchbook ✿ August week 01

This week I wasn’t really inspired, so I looked through Pinterest for Japanese foods and random ideas. I don’t usually do it because somehow I feel that ideas should come from myself, although we all know that’s not sustainable if you want to make a living out of it. Otherwise I will always draw the same things that I find comfortable and never try different ones.
This week I will upload the full video of the たい焼き (taiyaki) down below, because I really want to talk about it. It didn’t turn out as expected at all, the shadows are too harsh and the orange mid tone didn’t show up properly, being too similar to the yellow tone.

I’m not used to this kind of contrast and I don’t really like it, that’s why I think it would be a really nice mini video tutorial on how I would fix it :))

Thank youu!! Actually those are the ones that I have colored recently! As for the Taiyaki on the newest post you can see the difference once I do the coloring I actually had in mind~ it's more soft and orangey~ :))

I just love love love your sketchbook this week 😍 especially the little dog on the toast and the taiyaki ! I understand that you don't find it perfect but for me, it's gorgeous ! It look so greasy, delicious and warm with the little smoke around it 🤭🩷
