I said your inbox was gonna be popping this week! Here is video No 3 for your week, your UDUG video for January 2025. As I've stated in previous posts things were so crazy the last few months and since I wasn't able to get the December video out in time, and I couldn't post another poll when you hadn't received the previously promised video.
So I picked this one myself, but it's an interesting idea, one that I've been thinking of making into a full video - false advertising in cell phone games. For a couple days, I recorded every cell phone ad I was shown and then downloaded the actual game to see if it was anything like the ad. And almost none of them were!! And I'm not sure exactly how this is legal.
It's also a brief look into a whole world of video games that I have purposefully kept myself ignorant of. Yet, we can't look away from this stuff, insane amounts of money funnels through these games! This is the industry and it's not going away.
I was also hoping to do this one live with the discord, but recording AND casting your smart phone is actually more logistically difficult than you'd think. I would've loved to have gotten some realtime feedback, but there's only so many hours in the day to troubleshoot.
Big shout to Adamnator, he helped a lot with the edit of the Faceball doc and edited both this and the last episode of UDUG. So don't forget your contributions not only fund SSFF but they also allow us to hire commission work!

Yeah I couldβve cut out some more gameplay in this, maybe yall are more familiar with this stuff than I am haha. Didnβt occur to me that maybe these games are not just boring to play BUT ALSO boring to watch!

I equate mobile gaming to dumpster diving, personally. Sure you might run into some good stuff occasionally but the overwhelming majority of what you'll come accross will be trash.

I have been aware of Hero Wars since 2019-18 (their ads were like 90% of my youtube ads), they originally advertized their game as some sort of fiscs puzzle where you need to defuse some traps to get to the treasure, and they sure have gone through several different advertisements, even one that looks like what you showed as gameplay.
