Bringing the New Year in "Strong"?
🕑 Added 2020-09-01 02:28:00 +0000 UTCEDIT 9/1/2020: Got a lucky day off today, so I was able to finish translating the story. I hope you'll enjoy reading it! To be honest, most of the time, direct translations of Japanese FMG stories would read like "Yumi's muscles got bigger, and then they got even bigger.", with very little room for variation and only the bare minimum of more detailed contextual description. I think that would make for a pretty boring read in English if left as is, so I try my best to expand upon and emphasize what I think the author was trying to evoke. I often worry if maybe I try too hard and over do it. So when reading this, if at any point you feel like "Okay Debs, you can lay off the description a little.", please let me know in the comments! I'm genuinely curious.

This is something I never want to do, but unfortunately I'll be posting this story before I'm actually finished with it this time. Ordinarily, I would just not post it until it's done, but because of some emergency expenses my bank account is going to be tragically empty until this Friday. Bringing the New Year in “Strong”?

Taro decided to visit his cousin Yumi and her family on New Years Day. Usually, being dragged along to visit one’s relatives, as was customary on holidays like these, can feel like an annoying formality for both pre-teens and teenagers alike. Since he knew the promise of receiving a nice, fat toshidama (envelopes full of money given to youths for new years) lie on the other side of this particular formality, though, Taro willfully skipped to Yumi’s house, gleefully anticipating his hefty payout. Not to mention that he hadn’t seen Yumi in months, so he was feeling like it might be a nice chance to catch up with her as well.
“Hey~, it’s Taro~. Happy New Year, you guys~.” Taro announced himself, shouting through the house as he opened the door. Just down the entrance hall, apparently ready to head out herself, was Yumi.
“Oh, hey Taro-nii! Happy New Year~! Sorry though, nobody’s home but me! And I was just on the way out the door, myself.” Yumi said as she rounded the corner. She was clad in her training wear, with her gym bag in tow. Taro was taken aback by the sight of Yumi after having not seen her for several months.
“Y-Yumi, have you gotten even b-bigger?!” Taro yelped, his eyes bugging out.
“Eh-hehe~, so you can tell, huh? It’s really bummed me out that you haven’t come to visit me at all recently, Taro-nii. I really wanted to surprise you the next time you saw me, so I’ve been training ha~rder than ever. And you know what, not only did I pack on a bunch of muscle, I even grew a little taller, too!” Yumi said as she stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Taro. The last time Taro and Yumi met, Yumi was already looming 4 inches taller than Taro, who was not even 5 feet tall (150 cm) yet. To his chagrin, Taro found that he had to tilt his head up considerably more than before just to maintain eye contact with Yumi now.
But forget how much taller she was now; it was her musculature that was really stealing the show! The last time they met, Yumi’s muscular transformation was already fear-inducingly incredible; and from what he could tell, her massive development since then was not any less astounding. Yumi’s already massively muscular body had apparently bulked up to double her former size - if not more. Her unbelievable muscular conditioning was clearly visible even through her training wear, each and every bundle of thick muscle larger and more pronounced than they were before.
“W-what’s your height and weight these days?! If I’m not mistaken, last time you were about 5’3” (160 cm), and weighed something like 287 lbs. (130 kg), right?” Taro inquired, still half in shock.
“Umm, well, I think I’m ju~st under 5’7” (170 cm), but I’ve gotta be over 330 lbs. (150 kg) now.”
Taro’s head was spinning. His cousin, five years younger than him, was nearly 8 inches taller than him, and almost four times his weight - though her weight estimate did appear to be on the low end, from the looks of things. As they stood next to each other, Taro noted that he only came up to Yumi’s chin, at most - a whole head shorter than her.
After letting the differences in their heights and weights sink in for a while, Yumi decided she wanted to show her cousin her actual muscle gains more thoroughly. She raised both of her meaty arms into a flex, sending her biceps rocketing skywards. Instantaneously, her power-packed biceps ballooned even larger than the onlooking Taro’s head, and continued to swell even larger by the second. The surging expansion of her beefy physique filled Yumi’s training wear to the brim as her burgeoning biceps tugged ominously at her sleeves. The peak of Yumi’s biceps had now eclipsed Taro’s head entirely, and they were continuing to grow so insanely massive that they could completely obscure his entire body from the shoulders up.
“Un-unreal…”
Despite not an inch of skin being shown, Yumi’s musculature was in full display as each mass of steely sinew pressed distinctly against her training wear from underneath. Taro will be starting high school this year, while Yumi is still a couple of years out from even starting middle school. Despite such an age advantage, however, Taro had no choice but to look up to see his younger cousin’s face - provided his line of sight could make it past her ever-expanding pectoral mountain range in the first place. She was already taller than him as it was, but her outrageous musculature made her appear to have grown even taller.
“Hey, Taro-nii! I’m on my way to the training center now, come with me! I can rent a posing bikini there, so come see my muscles!” Yumi beamed exuberantly, effortlessly hoisting Taro over her brawny shoulder before making a dash for the training center before Taro could finally overcome his shock and begin to protest.
“Hello~! Happy New Year~!” Yumi bellowed as she stepped into the gym. There was only but a single other person in the gym, a man focused on doing maintenance to some of the workout equipment. Upon hearing Yumi’s voice, he snapped back to reality and turned his head towards the door.
“Oh, well if it isn’t Yumi. Same to you! I see you waste no time, you’re the first member to walk through those doors this year.” The man said as he stood up. The man seemed to be fairly young, perhaps one of the trainers at this gym.
“Oh! Mr. Owner, Happy New Year! Am I really the first one in?” Yumi responded as she turned towards the owner of the gym.
“Well, yeah. Not too many out there jumping to see the first sunrise of the new year from through the windows of a gym.” There was absolutely nobody else inside the spacious gym but the three of them, it was almost peaceful.
“Okay, I’ll go change and be right back!” Yumi said to Taro as she made for the locker rooms. Before too long had passed, Yumi emerged from the locker rooms donned in her posing suit. She wasn’t even in fifth grade yet, and yet her body was so overflowingly stuffed to the limit with rippling muscle that she looked like she might explode. It was now fully evident to Taro not just how much muscle Yumi had gained since he last saw her, but how utterly gigantic she had become as a whole.
“Well? What’cha think, Taro-nii? I’ve gotten really BIG and STRONG, haven’t I?” Yumi asked as she bore down with a powerful full-body flex. Yumi’s muscles, which already looked about as inhumanly pumped as they could possibly get, exploded to even larger proportions yet again, audibly groaning and creaking as they contended vigorously for space. Staring Taro right in the face were Yumi’s pecs (far more accurate to call them pecs than breasts), a single one of which was already larger than Taro’s head, jostling violently against each other as yet more groaning could be heard from the increasing depths of her striated cleavage. All Taro could do was stand there, mouth agape, with his eyes as big as saucers as he gazed up at his colossal little cousin in awe.
Yumi chuckled pridefully, basking in Taro’s utter dumbfoundment like beams of muscle-building light. Shocking unsuspecting people with her impossibly muscular body was one of Yumi’s favorite things to do.
“Here, Taro-nii. Take this.”
Yumi handed Taro some sort of white cloth. Once Taro had taken it and unfurled it, he found that it was a ridiculously large T-shirt.
“Whoa, what the heck is this?! This T-shirt is as big as a blanket! Taro exclaimed. Taking a sleeve in each hand, he attempted to stretch it out until it was taut, but the shirt was larger than even his own wingspan.
“Why don’tcha try it on, Taro-nii?”
Before even waiting for a response, Yumi snatched the T-shirt out of Taro’s hands and slipped it over his head.
“Hey, wai---Y-Yumi! What the hell do you think you’re doing?!”
As one would expect, the shirt was far too large for Taro, the hem of it dangling below his knees. It appeared to have been short-sleeved, but it was such a massive shirt that the tips of Taro’s fingers couldn’t even make it out past the cuffs. Even the collar was so gaping wide that the shirt was practically sliding off of his shoulders; his upper body was still almost completely visible, despite now ‘wearing’ the shirt. Unable to help herself at the sight of Taro looking like a hapless toddler who managed to get into their bodybuilding father’s wardrobe, Yumi burst out with laughter. Taro went beet red in embarrassment.
“What’s your deal, Yumi?! Don’t just sit there and laugh at somebody after forcing them to wear such a ridiculously sized shirt!” Taro snapped. Yumi started to rein in her laughter.
“I’m sorry, Taro-nii, really! Really! It’s just that, that’s one of the T-shirts I’ve grown out of. I’m too big for that one now.”
“Whu-wait...This is...YOUR T-shirt?! AND YOU’VE ALREADY GROWN OUT OF IT?!!”
Just as Taro had let out his shout of disbelief, the comically large T-shirt finished slipping off of Taro’s shoulder, the yards of fabric landing around his feet with a dull thud.
“Here, why don’t I put it on and show you? Look!” Yumi said as she picked up the shirt and began to put it on.
The once billowing sleeves that Taro could have easily fit his whole head within were now pulled snuggly against Yumi’s girthy arms; her boulder-like biceps and triceps preventing the sleeve from travelling any further up her arm than her elbow. Yumi forced her arm through the sleeve a bit more, which stretched the poor sleeve to its absolute limit, but by some miracle, it managed to hold on. Yumi’s head popped through the collar easily enough, but in stark contrast to Taro, who’s entire spindly body could slide through the collar with ease, Yumi’s absurdly thick neck threatened to shred the collar wide open as it grinded it’s way through. Yumi tugged down at the hem of the shirt, doing her best to force the shirt to fit on her gargantuan body as a shirt should on any normal person. Despite her best efforts, though, the huge T-shirt could only manage to cling to the front face of her monolithic pectorals, at best. What was once brushing against Taro’s shins was now completely failing to cover Yumi’s upper body whatsoever; her rippling, muscle-packed abdomen remained completely bare.
“I-insane…”
Taro had his mind blown yet again today. For Taro, that shirt was so oversized that it wouldn’t have looked out of place in some sort of circus routine. But for Yumi, it really was too small - and stuffed to the brink of explosion, at that. Yumi smiled warmly.
“Taro-nii, watch this!”
Just after issuing her warning, Yumi sent a small surge of power coursing throughout her entire body. Her body swelled with even more bulk for an instant, stretching the T-shirt to the point of transparency around her engorged musculature for a scant few moments before it could no longer withstand the immense pressure, bursting to shreds like a balloon. Taro fell back on his bum in surprise. Yumi, brimming with pride, looked down at her cousin and raised both of her mighty arms into a massive flex, each of her super biceps bigger than her own head.
“What’cha think, Taro-nii? Amazing, right?!” Yumi inquired boastfully.
“Well then, time to get to work. Stay and watch me train, Taro-nii!” Yumi said as she turned to face the barbells.
“I don’t think you need me to watch you train, I think I’ll go home instead.” Taro said coldly, attempting to hide the fact that his heart was racing.
“Wha~t?? Aww, come on~ Don’t you wanna see my muscles~?” Yumi pleaded as she tugged at Taro’s arm.
“What are you talking about, haven’t you been showing them to me all day?”
“Noo~ not like tha~t! What I mean is, mmm, what was the word...oh! When I start training, my muscles get ‘punked’! And when they get ‘punked’, they get waaa~y bigger!”
“You idiot~ what you’re talking about isn’t called getting ‘punked’, it’s called getting pumped. And didn’t you just get pumped a second ago when you flexed out of that T-shirt?”
With a body like hers, it’s easy to forget that Yumi is still just a Japanese girl in the 4th grade; mispronouncing English words she’s barely even learned was only natural. Yumi’s innocence and naiveté were part of her charm, and they had already served to melt past Taro’s frigid facade enough to keep him there for a moment longer.
“Yeah, that! ‘Pumped’! When I train, my muscles get craaa~zy huge! So that’s why you have to stay and watch, Taro-nii!”
As Yumi said this, clad only in her posing bikini, she wrapped her arms around Taro and scooped him into a tremendous hug. Taro’s body was steadily being pressed in on from all sides by Yumi’s gargantuan muscles, her massive, steel-like pecs smashing against Taro’s face as he was smothered against them. The entirety of Taro’s upper body was being encased by Yumi’s oversized arms as they closed in on him, grinding his body forcefully against the concrete slabs of abdominal muscle protruding from her waist. Taro could hear his ribs beginning to succumb to the power of Yumi’s overwhelming might, not to mention even his stickly legs were being crushed between Yumi’s unbelievably large thighs.
“Gwaaaaaaaaah-! Yu-Yumi, I get it, okay?! I’ll watch, so...just…!” Taro managed to eek out with a desperate scream, just as he seemed like he might be crushed and buried alive by Yumi’s muscles.
“For real?! Yaaaa~y!” Yumi cheered, the crushing embrace on her cousin intensifying several times over.
“Gkagh!!”
Taro let out an almost inhuman shriek, but Yumi, as if she heard nothing at all, hummed blissfully to herself as she placed Taro into a nearby chair, then waded tankily away towards the weight machines.
Taro, slumped in the chair and barely hanging on to consciousness, gazed empty-headedly at Yumi as she trained. With an uncharacteristically fierce look transfixed upon her face, Yumi took a firm hold of the weights, and began to pump. Even through the brain fog, Taro could tell that the weights Yumi lifted were monstrously heavy; they were absolutely NOT intended to be used by middle school-aged girls. “If I trained like that everyday”, Taro mused to himself in his stupor, “I could probably get muscles like Yumi’s, too...wait...THERE’S NO WAY I could ever have muscles as big as a little girl with muscles bigger than an adult male bodybuilder!!”
Such thoughts looped endlessly throughout Taro’s subconscious as he continued to sit and stare in a daze.
After who knows how many hours had passed since being hugged into a near coma, Taro finally began to come to his senses again. He was jolted awake by the distant sensation of something massive lumbering in his direction; each heavy footstep rumbling through the ground with the weight of what felt like an elephant as it drew closer. With a shiver running down his spine, Taro lowered his head and fearfully refrained from looking up - he felt that if he were to look up, his eyes would be met with those of some kind of otherworldly terror. The booming footsteps were drawing closer even faster now.
Whatever ‘it’ was, was now standing right by Taro’s side, and it must have been exhausted by the way it was panting. He could hear droplets of water occasionally falling to the ground in between its breaths. Was it the beast’s saliva??
“Aww mannn~, Taro-nii! Did you doze off on me?!”
It turned out that what was lurking towards Taro was simply Yumi all along. Taro breathed a sigh of relief, then slowly began to look up towards her as he replied.
“O-oh, no. I wasn’t dozing off, I just spaced out for a bit, is al--WHAT THE---?!”
The mere sight of Yumi’s body seemed to have its own gravitational pull now; enough to suck the words, along with the ability to speak, right out of Taro’s lungs. In the span of time that Taro was in his stupor, Yumi had undergone an absolutely brutal training session - every inch of her colossal body dripping with sweat and glistening under the gym lights. As obscene as the amount of sweat sizzling off of her body was, even more obscene were of course, Yumi’s muscles. Her sweat-sheened muscles were now pumped to easily more than double the size she had bulked up to when hulking out of her undersized T-shirt - now Yumi REALLY looked like she might explode at any moment! Magnificently thick veins snaked and throbbed across and around all of Yumi’s muscles, amplifying the freakishness of her physique, and hinting at the impossible power that it possessed all the more. Like a balloon filled to its very limit, Yumi’s muscles looked as if they might burst through her skin. Large and small, major and minor, each and every bundle of sinew in Yumi’s body was pumped to the max, a cacophony of groans and creaks emanating from both Yumi’s massive body pulsating at critical mass, and the floor below it.
“Y-Yumi?! IS THAT YOU?!”
Taro blurted instinctively. The being standing before him was so impossibly pumped and violently shredded, that there was no way this thing could possibly be the same person as his cousin Yumi from just moments ago, he thought.
“Geez, Taro-nii, what’s the matter with you?! Of course it’s me, silly!”
Her face was now shrouded in the shade of her own mountainous musculature, but it was Yumi, no doubt about it. Taro, his brain mercilessly fried for the umpteenth time today, could only manage to elicit a single strained nod as he gawked up at her.
“Eh-hehe~ So? Am I ‘pumped’ now? My muscles are wayyy huger now than they were before, don’t you think?”
“Not just ‘way’ huge, ‘way too freaking’ huge.” Taro muttered internally. Yumi’s posing bikini, which was more than elastic enough to withstand her “little” shirt-shredding flex from earlier, was now stretched to the breaking point; the last of its durable fibers holding onto each other for dear life. A sense of pity for the poor rental bikini came over Taro - did it know that the first day of the new year would be its last?
“Taro-nii, check it out!”
Bent over so that it was level with Taro’s eyes, Yumi began to give her monstrous arm a flex. Even before flexing her humongous bicep, Yumi’s upper arm was already considerably larger than Taro’s head in circumference...but now, with each millimeter closer her fist cranked closer to it, her bicep expanded exponentially, as if it were being injected with liquid steel by the gallon in return. Every single muscle in her arm was repeatedly doubling in size with each passing moment from the inside out. The behemoth of an arm staring Taro in the face had now grown to be more than twice his own size. Finger-thick veins bristling just beneath her vacuum-tight skin throbbed in unison with the beating of her heart as they danced across the vast mountains and valleys of her inhuman physique.
Paying no mind to Taro’s trance-like state, Yumi decided to switch gears by sticking one of her legs out, planting her foot directly next to Taro, and giving her giga-quads a shake. With muscle-loaded thighs each far larger than Taro’s entire body, even something as simple as a quad shake easily exerted so much force on the ground below them, that Taro felt the need to hold onto Yumi’s thighs for stability - such was the unimaginable amount of muscle and might she possessed. With expert control, Yumi brought her seismic quad shaking to an abrupt stop, and transitioned instantly into an utterly herculean flex. In mere nanoseconds, Yumi’s colossal thigh boomed to over several times Taro’s size right beside him. Yumi then raised both of her beefy arms to place her hands behind her head.
“Unf!”
Yumi exhaled forcefully, crunching down on her rippling abdomen. As she bore down, the expansion of each row of abdominal muscles cascaded down her body, packing her countless abdominals in neatly and densely. Each individual ab inflated like a rubber ball as they grew in size - jutting out more and more from her stomach, etching deeper and deeper crevices between each bricklike protrusion - and it wasn’t just her abs. Yumi’s hefty pecs were heaving even larger as well; dozens of pounds of new, not yet gained girl-beef seemingly fusing with Yumi’s boulderous pectorals in real time. Any other girl Yumi’s age would be expected to have a petite chest, perhaps the earliest blossommings of a feminine pair of breasts. What Yumi had, however, could in no way rightfully be considered “breasts” at all. What Yumi had was a pair of pecs - gigantic, granite-hard pecs that could shatter every single adult male bodybuilding record in the world, and then some.
Yumi then spun gracefully on her heels to give Taro a full display of her backside, before placing both hands on her hips and spreading her lats. Her muscular wingspan broadening by leaps and bounds, Yumi’s brawny back initially began to take on a majestic V-taper. As her lat spread continued to widen, and her lower back muscles continued to thicken out, however, the beautiful V-taper was transfigured into something more like a round, muscle-laden wall. Each of the countless muscles coursing throughout Yumi’s mountainous back fought back and forth against each other, vying for precious territory as they grew, as if it were some great war between the right and left sides of her back. By the time she was done, her back truly looked like the topographical relief map of a wonderfully symmetrical landmass, featuring some of the most treacherous peaks and valleys you would ever find on this planet. To the untrained eye, one might think Yumi was clad in some sort of grotesque, fleshly armor, rather than simply displaying her own bare, musclebound back.
Yumi spun around to face Taro once again, and brought both of her fists to meet just in front of her stomach before giving her entire body a single, powerful flex; this was it - the aptly-named ‘most muscular pose’. A pose like this, performed by a bodybuilder as terrifyingly jacked and shredded as Yumi, is sure to leave an impression on the mind. From head to toe, every last fiber in Yumi’s body exploded in size, shoving and being shoved against each other, leathery stretching sounds hissing from all over as her muscles packed in so tightly that there were absolutely no gaps left between them. Her bulky, overblown delts, traps, and neck muscles all ballooned as well, converging around and just under her head until even her delts were brushing against her chin. Her voluminous pecs, not to be outdone, also swelled even larger - until the last vestiges of what might be recognizable as belonging to a 4th Grade girl, her adorable little face, was now nearly completely encased within a wall of beastly muscle. Even so, refusing to bring her inconceivable expansion to a halt, Yumi doubled down and poured even MORE power into her most muscular pose. Any normal person with a fantastic pump going on from hitting the weights might expect to be able to squeeze a little more out of their pump after some hardcore posing practice. Yumi’s body, however, as if it itself was not satisfied with it’s own reality-distorting mass, continued it’s relentless expansion. Taro unwittingly took a few steps back in shock, and Yumi’s insane musculature seemed to expand almost as if in hot pursuit.
“Y-Yumi, you’re not going to get even bigger, are you?” Taro asked, his voice undulating with dread as he looked up at his colossal little cousin. Yumi looked down on Taro, and gave him an innocent smile.
“Well, of course I am, Taro-nii! Here I gooo~!”
And so, she flexed even harder.
With astounding speed and vigor, Yumi’s muscles expanded so much that they began to take up even more of her surrounding area. With her muscles billowing in every conceivable dimension, Taro could no longer make out Yumi’s face at all from where he was standing. Bone-chilling sounds of mounds of steely flesh colliding viciously with each other reverberated throughout the entire gym. In some places throughout Yumi’s hulking body, other, more gritty sounds crackled through from the within the deepest reaches of her sinuous mass - her bones were groaning in protest against the now seemingly hundreds - maybe even thousands - of pounds of freshly packed on muscle they were now struggling to support. Even so, Yumi bore down on her titanic flex once more.
Despite her redoubled efforts, Yumi’s hulking body did little more than tremble with immense might - it seemed she had finally reached her limit. Yumi, however, her determination completely unabated, continued to hold her diamond-crushing most muscular pose. Taro, figuring that Yumi’s growth had finally reached it’s inevitable climax, took a step back to get a better look at the final result, when…
BOOM!!
Yumi’s entire body suddenly exploded to more than twice her already impossibly pumped size!!!
As Taro scanned up and down the entirety of Yumi’s vast, rippling physique, he knew that he could truly say his cousin had now become a veritable juggernaut. With mostly incoherent utterances dribbling from his quivering lips, Taro fell back onto his butt in terror once again.
“I-incredible…….”
For the third time today, Taro was unable to conceal just how totally mindblown he was. It was clear to him now that Yumi must be growing by leaps and bounds just like this every single day. And she was only going to get even bigger. Taro was well aware that there were loads of other girls far taller and even far more muscular than Yumi training at this gym. But for her height range? Taro was now convinced that she was the most massive of them all, no contest - her muscles were just that overwhelmingly gigantic.
Pleased with herself for being so freakishly jacked that she could scare the piss out of her cousin for the second time in a row in a single day, Yumi giggled contently.
“Heheh! My mega muscles are so awesome, aren’t they! Look out, World! ‘Cause this year, Yumi’s gonna get even more ‘pumped’ up, ‘bulked’ up, and ‘powered’ up, too!!” Yumi declared boisterously, which sent Taro shivering in a cold sweat.
“Just how much more 'powered up' does she intend to get…?”
