A peek into 2021.

starting from the end of 2020 -and for the sake of the transparency that so many "when it's ready" projects lack, here on Patreon- we have decided to share a quarter-by-quarter preview of what you can expect from us in 2021 in terms of game development.
As you should already know by now, the ongoing transition from Renpy to Unity meant that we have also lost Renpy's visual novel features.
However -since our current project is not a Visual Novel- we don't need most of them, but we will still need some features such as showing/hiding of backgrounds, characters sprites, and speech with basic special effects (such as dissolve).
That's what we're currently doing, and we should be done porting all this by the end of 2020.
As for 2021:
Q1-2021 (Jan-Mar)
- Procedurally generated Chibis (check the image above);
- Tactical Battle Engine(Animations/GFX);
- Tactical Battle Engine(Logic);
- Particle FX;
- Unity UI;
Q2-2021 (Apr-Jun)
- Idle/Rest mode for Chibis(Animations);
- Music/Sounds;
- Save System (Logic);
- Masks(GFX);
Q3-2021 (Jul-Sep)
If everything goes according to our plans, we should have a playable beta with all systems in place by the end of Q2 - maybe except the save system, which we may move to Q3 to prioritize all other systems/modules.
During Q3 we will balance the game, fix bugs, proofread texts, and add more content such as more hairstyles/costumes, should we feel like it's needed/get requests from you in that regard.
We expect to release a 1.0 version of Windolls by the end of Q3.
Q4-2021 (Oct-Dec)
This trimester should work as an emergency extra time, should there ever be anything taking longer than we expected.
