City Maps 01
🕑 Added 2021-01-31 19:20:22 +0000 UTCHey everyone!
This month we're pleased to unveil the new city-themed maps that we've been working on!
For this month's update, we won't be posting the main maps but a mixed bag of maps instead. That's 'cause we wanted some extra time to draft out how we want the main maps to be.
At first the idea was to make - like the Aztec set - one large continuous map set. Then we realized that it becomes unwieldy very quickly: the total count of maps ballooned to over 30 and most of them were pretty flavorless connecting streets to keep things in scale.
So to avoid that, we've settled instead on dividing the city into a few unique 'districts' with around 4 maps each. That way it falls neatly into each month's update and we all won't have to look at twenty straight roads, and we'd have a slum zone, a royal district, an artisan's promenade etc. We'll be adding smaller sub-district like a city watch garrison too!
So without further ado, some maps!
This round specifically we're tackling a market district as we work out the exact kind of style we want for the city. The map's an extra long one that splits into a shopping district to the south and an open-aired market to the north. In addition to the night variants, there's an extra horror variant!
Meanwhile the extra map for this set is one that could blend right into the northern exit, a festival ground complete with a stage for your theatrical needs:
Plus an apothecary! It has a shopfront, a lab at the back, a storage area full of exotic ingredients, and streets to sneak around in:
And naturally, a doom and gloom version, complete with a murder clue:
And that's all for this set! Stay around for the next!
