I can see the resemblance. Especially since I just watched that TT episode. I always thought it was location myself. Interesting change.

Bezel shares a design and voice actor to Mumbo in teen titans as well as their affinity towards magic being reversed with Bezel starting with magic and moving towards stage magic and Mubo starting with stage magic moving to real magic Also according to the wiki back in og bezel was originally a place not a person and the omniverse crew weren't given all the trivia information so they made bezel a person for this story

I think I remember reading somewhere that they originally intended for Charmcaster to be an ally, but changed their minds midway through preproduction of the OG series.
