BTT: Training Prim to FLIP!
🕑 Added 2024-04-02 14:00:01 +0000 UTCIn today's video I am sharing how I taught Primrose our parrotlet to flip around on our finger. This is best trained using luring and then phasing out the lure. Remember, you can simply train your bird to hang upside down in a bat-like position or take it all the way around as a flip. The training is the same, other than stopping earlier for the bat and extending the duration for it. I will be sharing a video on the bat next month with my sun conures!

Our conure, Jellybean, first learned to do the flip on a perch and later we translated it to our fingers. It's one of his favorite behaviors to offer! Very cute Prim!

Awesome Prim! Charlie knows the bat. I will extend it now to the flip. They learn so fast don't they? I'm so impressed by how intelligent these little parrotlets are! Charlie even sometimes sleeps like a bat! By the way, these trick videos are just the best! Super love them! Being new at training tricks it helps me to see the live examples of how training goes.
