Another option for dowel perches is to rough them up with a sander. I have made mine all uneven and bumpy like a natural branch.

I came across a Morgan video the other day, over on YouTube. Capri got a bit scared when Morgan did a big panic flight. Itβs amazing to see Capri growing up and her involvement with the birds ever-changing.
